The best Sago Pudding you have ever taste!

This recipe is for those brace-faces who regularly play host at dinner parties. The fine texture of this pudding will give your guests the perception that you have spent hours in the kitchen. When, in fact, most of the time is spent waiting for the sago to soak in milk.

Ingredients:
  • Five tablespoons of sago
  • 2 cups of milk
  • Two eggs
  • Custard/ apricot jam
  • Believe it or not, but that is all the ingredients!

Method:
  1. Soak five tablespoons of sago in half a cup of milk for an hour.
  2. Preheat the oven at 180 degrees.
  3. Boil the rest of the milk.
  4. Add the soaked sago with the boiled milk while on the stove top and stir continuously. You will really have to stir because if the milk slightly burns, it will spoil your sago pudding with burnt milk after taste.
  5. Boil and stir for 5 minutes.
  6. Beat two eggs in a separate bowl.
  7. Add the milk/ sago mixture to the eggs.
  8. Mix well.
  9. Bake for 45 minutes at 180 degrees.
  10. Serve warm with custard or apricot jam.
I did not make this one too sweet, if you can afford an extra kilo to keep the winter cold at bay add some sugar while you boil the milk or, for a healthier alternative, a handful of raisons before you bake it.
Tip: Sago is a delicious dessert after a light meal. Be advised not to serve this after a trio of meats. Sago can be rather filling.
