DIY Microwave Popcorn

Yes, you can make home-made microwave popcorn, and you wont believe how easy it is!

I was a little unsure at first, I've heard the stories that it isn't safe, or that the bag would catch on fire. Well, I've made this simple recipe at least a dozen times... and NO fires. : ) Just for safeties sake, I do stay by the microwave and watch it as it cooks though. Seriously, people are worried about it catching fire, but mindlessly put all those nasty chemicals that are in the store bought microwave popcorn into their bodies? It's expensive and loaded with sodium, plus, the steam that escapes when you open a freshly popped bag? It contains dozens of chemicals, some of which have been proven toxic. Now you don't have to worry about all that, just make your own!

DIY Microwave Popcorn
brown lunch bag
1/4 cup non-GMO popcorn {Check out this article about GMO foods}

Pour popcorn into the brown paper bag. Fold top over a few times, making sure the crease on the folds are tight.
Place in the microwave, folded side up and cook on high power for 2 to 3 minutes or until there is 3 - 5 seconds between pops.
Open carefully and add your choice of seasoning.

Tip:  Family favourite is just good old melted butter and salt.
