Crochet Flip Flop Slippers

Designed by:  Esther Leavitt

So fun and cute. This slipper fits a child size 8; Crochet Slippers are awesome for the fall and winter seasons. I love slippers all year around especially when you walk around on hard wood floors.

Materials:
  • Bernat Pipsqueak yarn: Candygirl,
  • Size H Crochet Hook,
  • Darning Needle, and
  • a large Foam Sheet.

CH = Chain
SL = Slip Stitch
SC = Single Crochet
SC2tog = Single Crochet 2 sts together

Row 20: SC2tog, 3 SC, SC2tog, Tie off and hide string
Rep Base – 20 3 more times to make 4 motifs

Next take your foam and cut out two identical soles that match the soles just crochet, but make these soles slightly smaller and place the foam in between two of the crochet soles. With darning needle and yarn sew around the soles. Do this again with the other two soles.

Over Foot Strap
Base: Ch 10

Row 1-4: 10 SC, Ch 1, turn- except on row 4 tie off and hide string.

Make to Over Foot Straps one for each sole. Sew these straps to the middle of the soles as shown.
Toe Strap
Take a strand of yarn measuring 1 yard in length. Take a darning needle and poke needle through sole (all three layers) and back up through the sole (all three layers) and pull the strand of yarn so both ends of the strand are even, giving you two equal pieces. Then take these two pieces and tie a knot at the base of sole to keep the yarn from moving. Take each strand and Ch 14 then tie off. After making the Ch attach a darning needle to the tail of the ch strand and sew to the sole in shown manner, toward the heal of the sole.

Finished! Have fun!
