How to make Date Balls...

You can use Rice Crispies, Marie biscuits or Amaretto bits.  You can make it in a pan and cut into slices or roll up the batter into balls and then rolling it in coconut OR go more decadent and chocolate dip it.

Here is the basic recipe
Ingredients:

  • 250g Butter or Margarine
  • 250 ml Sugar
  • 500g pitted Dates - finely sliced
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 200g Marie biscuits into pieces
  • coconut
How to:
Melt sugar and butter over low heat, the mixture shouldn't brown. Add dades and egg and stir well so that egg evenly interfere. Add biscuits and mix well.
Remove from heat and pour mixture into a greased pan 23 x 23 cm. Smoothed down with a knife. Sprinkle coconut on top and let cool. Cut into squares and enjoy.

TIP: The Marie biscuits can be replaced with Rice Krispies. Add enough Rice Krispies. Roll the mixture into balls. Roll the balls in the coconut
