"Waiting on the Wind" by Bob Perks

Perks Pearl of Wisdom
"There are things to do and plenty of excuses not to do them. But why would you undermine your own happiness? Do all it takes, for as long as it takes and you will never regret it."
Bob Perks

"Waiting on the wind"
by Bob Perks

It wouldn't take much for them to take flight.
They were waiting on the wind and the wind wasn't
cooperating at all. So they just hung there.

I tried grabbing a few and it was like I set the
whole bunch free. They scattered every where.

I took the ones I had in hand and mixed them in the soil
in the small garden in front of my green house.

No guarantee they will grow, but I gave them a chance.

Sometimes we wait. Sometimes we think we can't move
on without the help of someone else. Sounds good, but
when you put your future in the hands of others you
give up control.

Like waiting on the wind.

Each seed in this plant can only grow to be one thing. It
cannot fall and turn into a pumpkin. It cannot drift away
and become a mighty oak.

We are not seeds. We are not dependent on perfect conditions
to grow. We can adjust, change plans, and make something
out of nothing if we have to.

When our plans and dreams turn to seed we can't just stand
there hoping that they will land in just the right spot.
We must gather them and plant them ourselves.

No guarantee they will grow, but we must give them a
chance.

It may be smart, too, to save a few for the next growing season.

You can't cast them all and pray that they will prosper.

Mathew 13 3-8
"3 Then he told them many things in parables, saying: "A farmer  went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop-a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown."

In time, not earthly seasons, we all go through stages, seasons
of our own making. We are the farmer of our dreams. We must plant,
nurture and feed, harvest and reinvest the seed within the time
frame right for us.

Wait for no one like the seed waits on the wind.

Share the bounty of your harvest with others whose season has not
come and your store house will never be empty.

Plan for the next planting and store away the fruits of your labor
for those times when the harvest may be lean.

Yes, God has plans for your life, but he isn't going to live it
for you.

You must work the plan, sow the seeds and share the harvest.

"Waiting on the wind," is for flying kites.

"I believe in you!"
