The Knot Prayer

Dear God,
Please untie the knots that are in my mind, my heart, and my life.
Remove the have nots, cannots, and do nots.
Erase the will nots, may nots, might nots that may find a home in my heart.
Release me from the could nots, would nots, should nots that obstruct my life..
And most of all, Dear God, I ask that you remove from my mind,
my heart, and my life all of the “am nots”  that I have allowed to hold me back.
Especially the thought that I am not good enough.
Amen

How to Make a Knotted Rosary Necklace
Prayer ropes are also used by Eastern Orthdox monks.
A knotted rosary is a Catholic prayer rope used when reciting The Holy Rosary prayer. During the prayer, participants contemplate the five rosary mysteries while reciting traditional prayers. Although beads are commonly used in rosary necklaces, traditional necklaces are made with knots. A knotted rosary consists of five sets of 10 Hail Mary knots with an Our Father knot between each set of 10. A centerpiece knot is used to connect the two sides and the crucifix is attached with an Our Father knot.
Things You'll Need:
  • 20 feet of rosary twine
  • Crucifix
Instructions:
Hail Mary Knot
  1. Identify the middle point of the twine. Fold the twine over your finger. Loop the twine around your finger towards your palm to make an "X" shape.
  2. Loop the twice more so that one side of the "X" has a single strand and the other side has three strands. Remove the formation from your finger and slide one end of the twine through the inside of the formation.
  3. Adjust the knot so that it's aligned in the middle of the twine. Pull on both sides of the twine until the knot is taut.
  4. Repeat this process five times on one side of the original Hail Mary knot and four times on the other side. The ten Hail Mary knots comprise a “decade.” Tie the knots so that they're a centimeter apart.
Our Father Knot
  1. Place your Our Father knot an inch away from the last Hail Mary knot. Fold the twine over your finger. Loop the twine around your finger towards your palm to make an "X" shape.
  2. Loop the twine four more times so that one side of the "X" has one strand and the other side has five strands. Remove the formation from your finger and slide one end of the twine through the inside of the formation.
  3. Adjust the knot so that it's one inch away from the last Hail Mary knot. Pull on both sides of the twine until the knot is taut. Place an Our Father knot after each set of 10 Hail Mary knots.
Centerpiece Knot
  1. Fold the twine in half and line up the first and last Hail Mary knots. Hold the knot and fold both pieces of twine over your finger simultaneously. Loop the pieces of twine around your finger to make an "X" shape.
  2. Loop the twine one more time so that one side of the "X" has two strands and the other side has four strands. Remove the formation from your finger and slide one end of the twine through the inside of the formation.
  3. Adjust the knot so that it's one inch away from the last Hail Mary knot. Pull on both sides of the twine until the knot is taut.
Our Father Knot with a Crucifix
  1. Tie a normal Our Father knot an inch away from the Centerpiece knot followed by three Hail Mary knots.
  2. Fold the twine over your finger. Loop the twine around your finger towards your palm to make an "X" shape. Loop the twine four more times so that one side of the "X" has one strand and the other side has five strands.
  3. Before sliding the twine through the center of the formation, slide the crucifix onto the twine. Remove the formation from your finger and slide one end of the twine through the inside of the formation.
  4. Tie a knot on the end of the twine so that the rosary doesn't loosen.
