GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

ssc (spike single crochet) = insert hook 2 rounds below
in stitch indicated, yo and draw the loop up to the height of the current round, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook.
Throw
Clover Square (Make 99)
With A, ch 6; join with a slip st to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 1, 16 sc in ring; join with a slip st in first sc.
Round 2: Ch 1, sc in same sc as joining, sc in next sc, * (sc, ch 10, sc) in next sc **, sc in next 3 sc; repeat from * around, end at **; sc in next sc; join.
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in same sc as joining, * skip next 2 sc, (2 hdc, 17 dc, 2 hdc) in next ch-10 space, skip next 2 sc **, sc in next sc; repeat from * around, end at **; join. Fasten off.
Assembly
The squares will be joined from left side to right side, top to bottom using the join as you go method with B. Each of the 9 rows will have 11 clover squares.
Row 1, Square 1: Join B with a ssc over any sc between any of the clover leafs, * ch 5, skip next 5 sts, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next st, [ch 5, skip next 4 sts, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next st] twice, ch 5, skip next 5 sts **, ssc over sc; repeat from *around, end at **; join. Fasten off.
Connecting Squares
Row 1, Squares 2-11: Join B with a ssc over any sc between any of the clover leafs, ch 5, skip next 5 sts, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next st, * [ch 5, skip next 4 sts, in next st, (sc, ch 1, slip st to matching ch-3 loop of Square 1, ch 1, sc in
same st)] twice, ch 5, skip next 5 sts, ssc over sc, repeat from * once more (the motif will now be connected at 4 points.) complete Square as for Square 1. Fasten off.
Row 2, Square 1: Join B with a ssc over any sc between the clover leafs, * ch 5, skip next 5 sts, (sc, ch 3, sc) in next st, [ch 5, skip next 4 sts, (sc, ch 1, slip st in ch-3 loop of matching adjacent loop of first Square of Row 1, ch 1, sc in same space)] twice, ch 5, ssc over sc; repeat from * once more (the motif is connected at 4 points.); complete Square. Fasten off.
Connecting Squares
Row 2, Squares 2-11: For the remaining 10 squares of Row 2, connect to the four ch-3 loops of square 1 of Row 2 AND the 3 adjacent ch-3 loops of matching squares on Row 1. Work the remaining motif as in motif 1 of Row 2.
Fasten off.
Continue to join squares in this manner until there are 9 rows of 11 squares joined. Weave in ends.
