Adorable Baby Poncho Sweater!

Crochet Hook: G/6 or 4 mm hook
Yarn Weight: (4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
Use Caron Simply soft (thicker yarns dont look or lay as nice)

Stitches used:
Dc- double crochet
half shell: 2dc ch 1
Shell: 2 dc, ch1, 2 dc

For Size 4/5 Toddler

Chain 95 Join to form ring. Becareful to not twist.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in same stitch, sc in each stitch around: 95 total
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in each stitch around: 95 total
Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in each stitch around: 95 total
Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc, ch 1, 2 dc in same stitch, ch 1,** skip 2 stitches, 2 dc, ch 1 in next stitch. skip 1 stitch, 2 dc, ch 1 in next stitch ** repeat from ** to** for a total of 18 half shells. Shell in next stitch, than repeat with half shells alternating with skipping 2 stitches and 2 stitch in between each around(18 half shells) Join: total of 36 half shells and 2 shells

Rnd 5 thru 16: slip stitch to center of shell, ch 3, dc, ch 1, 2dc in same stitch, ***ch 1, 2 dc in next ch 1 space*** Repeat around to shell and do a full shell in the full shell. than continue with pattern.
ARM HOLE SECTION
Rnd 17:
slip stitch to center of shell, Ch 2, dc, ch 1, 2dc in ch 1 sp.** ch 1, 2dc in next ch 1 sp ** repeat till after you have done 8- 1/2 shells Now
skip 13 shells(armhole) 2dc,ch 1 in next ch 1 sp into the 14th space after you have skipped the 13-1/2 shells repeat to center shell, do full shell again** Repeat from** to last shell, join..
Rnd 18 thru 25: Repeat pattern
Rnd 26: do half shells all around, join fasten off
Join yarn to sleeve opening. Sc in each stitch around.(46sc)
Rnd 2: ch 1, sc in each stitch around(46sc)
Rnd 3: ch 1, sc in each stitch around.(46sc) Fasten off
Repeat on other sleeve.
Add Fringe to bottom

For the tie: Ch 90 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each across. Fasten off
For Flowers: Make 2
ch 4, slip stitch in first ch to form ring, (ch 4, tr, slip stitch) in ring 6 times. Ch 1, fasten off. Pull end of neck tie through center of flower, sew flower to neck tie. Repeat for other flower. Find the center of your tie and sew it to the middle of round 4 of the shawl. Tie into a bow and tack the bow into place.
