French Onion Tart
You will need:
1 pack of ready-made puff pastry dough
1 tablespoon butter
few sprigs of fresh thyme
How to:City-bought puff pastry on a baking sheet and cut off the excess dough. Prick with a fork. Cut around the edge of the dough lightly with a knife about 1cm from the side. Place the butter and sliced onions in a pan on very low heat for between 45 minutes and an hour until the onions gekarimaliseer. Divide the dough into 3 parts lengthwise and place two rows of filling in two of the thirds. Cutting cheese with a vegetable skiller and place on top of the filling with fresh thyme. Brush the beaten egg with a brush to the edge and where the dough is folded and pasted. Fold now one third without filling the drive onions in the middle to cover and paint the outside also with geklitse egg. Bake tart in a hot oven until golden brown.
